Melanie Lane is an Australian choreographer and performer. Based in Europe from 2000–2014, she worked with artists such as Kobalt Works/Arco Renz, Club Guy and Roni and Tino Seghal and, since 2007, has been an artistic collaborator with Belgian dance company Kobalt Works/Arco Renz, collaborating on projects in Belgium, Norway, Germany and Indonesia. In 2015, Melanie was appointed Resident Director at Lucy Guerin Inc.
Melanie has collaborated with UK electronic musician Clark, including choreographing and performing in his 2014/15 live show at Field Day London, Moma PS1 New York and Villette Sonique Paris a.o.). She has also worked with choreographer Morgan Belenguer and visual artists Martin Boettger, Ash Keating and Bridie Lunney. She has performed in three Antony Hamilton Projects works - Drift (2011), Black Project 1 (2012) and Ruth (2015).
Melanie has established a repertory of works, performing in international festivals and theatres in Europe, Australia and Asia. She has been an artist in residence at Dock 11 Berlin, Tanzwerkstatt Berlin, Lucy Guerin Inc. and Schauspielhaus Leipzig and has been commissioned by Schauspiel Leipzig (2014), Chunky Move (2016), LOFFT and Hebbel Am Ufer (2016).
